Hot Tub Decks & Custom Lighting along CO’s Front Range

Although we don’t sell or install hot tubs (we work with Backyards and Billiards), we do provide consultation on how and where the hot tub should be placed, and we build the structure to support the hot tub.

The height of your deck and whether or not the hot tub is recessed into your deck dictates how we build the structure that will support the additional weight. Hot tubs can exceed 4,000 pounds, never place a hot tub on a deck that isn’t designed for this additional weight.

What is the best height for a hot tub? We find a hot tub that is recessed roughly one foot into the deck, leaving two feet of the tub exposed, is a comfortable height. You don’t need steps for access like you do if the tub is set atop the deck. You also don’t have to bend over to get into the tub like you do if it’s recessed more.

Prior to making this decision, you’ll need to verify the location of the access panel. This has to be accessible after the hot tub has been installed. If the tub is recessed, a removable section of decking may be required to gain access.
